Slidekin Privacy Policy

Last changed: 7 October 2026

Slidekin is a puzzle game for Android by Grut Hiem Games. This page explains what data the game uses, why, who else gets it, and how you can delete it. We keep it as small as we can: most of the game works without anything leaving your phone.

Who we are

Grut Hiem Games, the Netherlands. Contact: grut.hiem.games@gmail.com. We are responsible ("controller") for the data described here.

On your phone

The game keeps your progress (stars, loot, shells, clothes, hints), your settings, the levels you build, and a small log of the last errors on your phone. It is not backed up to Google and is not sent to us. If you uninstall the game, it is gone. Purchases come back from Google Play.

The age question

The first time you start the game, it asks the year you were born. We keep only one thing: whether you are under 13. Your birth year itself is not stored, and the answer never leaves your phone. A parent can change the answer later under Options → Change age. Players under 13 (and players whose age we don't know) get child-safe ads and need a parent to sign in online (see Children).

Ads

Slidekin is free and shows ads: sometimes a full-screen ad after a won level, and optional video ads you choose to watch for a reward. Premium removes the ads that you don't choose.

Ads come from Google AdMob, which can also fetch ads from Unity Ads and Liftoff (Vungle), and, for players of 13 and older, from AppLovin. These ad networks receive information about your device (such as the model, operating system, language, rough location from the IP address and the advertising ID) to show ads, count them and prevent fraud.

Their privacy policies: Google, Unity, Liftoff, AppLovin.

Purchases

Purchases go through Google Play. We never see your name or payment details. When you buy the Creator pass, the game sends the purchase code to our server, which checks it with Google so the pass works online.

The online level maker

Building and playing your own levels works without an account. To share levels, play other players' levels or vote, you sign in with Google Play Games. Our server then stores:

Other players see your shared levels with a made-up maker name (like "Sleepy Otter") and the play and vote counts. There is no chat and no free text. If a level is too complex for our solver, the game sends us its map so we can improve the solver.

The server runs on Supabase in the European Union (Frankfurt). Data stays until you delete your account. Encrypted backups are kept for 14 days, so deleted data is gone from them within 14 days.

Children

Slidekin is made for everyone, including children. For players under 13:

Parents can ask us to see or delete their child's data at grut.hiem.games@gmail.com, or delete the account in the game.

Problem reports

Under Options → Report a problem the game can open your own e-mail app with a report: the game version, Android version, phone model, language and the last error lines. Nothing is sent unless you send that e-mail yourself. We only use it to fix the problem and delete it afterwards.

Legal basis

We use the data for the online level maker and purchases because you asked for those features (contract), personalized ads only with your consent, and non-personalized ads, fraud prevention and problem reports for our legitimate interest in running a free game.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Mail grut.hiem.games@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Deleting your data

In the game: Options → Delete my account. Or see how to delete your account. Everything on your phone goes when you uninstall the game.

Changes

If we change this policy, the date at the top changes.
